Anti-Gun Media Ecstatic Over Lawsuit To Dissolve The NRA

Gun News

As expected, the anti-gun media, led by those outlets purporting to give business news, are praising the New York Attorney General’s lawsuit intended to dissolve the National Rifle Association. https://www.forbes.com/sites/aaronsmith/2020/08/06/ny-lawsuit-to-dissolve-nra-targets-troubled-gun-group-once-seen-as-unstoppable/#56144c4b6dee

Of course, that lawsuit is intended to clear the way for a federal ban on private gun ownership. It completely ignores the history of gun control and the certain results of banning guns, or even of restricting citizen access to firearms.

While it is unfortunate that New York did not report crime numbers to the FBI until 1965, denying students of the effects of gun restrictions a look at reported crime before 1965, the chart below reflects what we have, and is sufficient to demonstrate the rise in crime that result from gun control campaigns and laws. A rise that did not come down until Mayor Giuliani began “broken windows policing” in New York City.

The crime numbers the chart is based on, and the rise in other crime rates such as murder, can be verified with this convenient FBI bases spreadsheet. http://www.disastercenter.com/crime/nycrime.htm

If you check the FBI numbers at the link, you will find New York States homicide rate, its murder rate, went from a moderately high 4.5 per 100,0000 population to a second world rate of 14.5 per 100,000 in 1990 under the gun laws the Democrats who misrule the Empire State want to stiffen.

And it is again unfortunate that the city has chosen to use a computer program to reduce crime rates to an incredibly low level. A level that cannot be maintained in 2020 because Democratic mayors are encouraging the arsonists and looters to visit their cities.
