Former President Donald Trump and Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) are due to speak at a National Rifle Association conference.
The conference, to be held from April 14-16, will also feature nearly every declared and potential Republican 2024 presidential candidate, including former Vice President Mike Pence, entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson, and New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu. Former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley is also slated to speak, according to the Hill.

Other influential Republicans who likely won’t join the presidential race, including South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem, Rep. Jim Jordan (OH), and Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb, are expected to speak as well.
The lineup may make for an awkward situation, as most of the listed speakers have come out to bash Trump in increasingly fierce ways and vice versa. Trump’s feud with former ally DeSantis has become especially fierce in recent months.
“The 2023 NRA-ILA Leadership Forum represents a significant gathering of national leaders. This event underscores the importance of defending our constitutional rights and highlights the vital role of the NRA and its members in protecting freedom and liberty. Our high-caliber speaker lineup emphasizes the significance of preserving our freedoms,” NRA Executive Vice President and CEO Wayne LaPierre told Fox News Tuesday.

The convention of the largest and most influential gun rights group in the United States has featured many of the slated speakers for several consecutive years. However, 2023 will mark the first time DeSantis has spoken at the event, coming soon after a successful legislative push for an easing of gun control measures.
However, Trump and DeSantis won’t have to worry about an awkward personal encounter because DeSantis is only due to speak virtually, the NRA told Fox News.
