Maryland: Anti-Gun Bill Scheduled for Senate Committee Vote

Gun Rights

On Tuesday, March 7, the Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee is expected to vote on Senate Bill 1, a gun-control bill that would expand gun-free zones while leaving only law-abiding citizens defenseless.  Senate Bill 1 is currently being redrafted a third time; based on previous versions, it’s still likely to be overbearing, trampling on the rights of law-abiding citizens and making it harder to carry for self-defense. Proponents have consistently failed to explain how disarming law-abiding, trained, and licensed individuals will increase public safety from criminals who do not obey the law. They present no plan to punish these violent criminals, who already ignore existing laws.

This has never been about public safety.  This is purely about politics, and the anti-gun majority simply wants to pass more bills to satisfy their gun-banning base. Please contact the committee members now and ask them to OPPOSE Senate Bill 1, which would place further burdens on law-abiding gun owners and sportsmen!
