Alaska: Legislature Adjourns Sine Die from 2024 Session

Gun Rights

On Thursday, May 16th, the Legislature adjourned sine die from its 2024 legislative session. During this session, the Legislature passed House Joint Resolution 3, encouraging Congress to pass the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act or a similar bill. HJR 3 will be transmitted to Gov. Dunleavy’s desk for his signature.

In addition, pro-Second Amendment lawmakers did their duty to ensure that Senate Bill 229, to create “red flag” gun seizures without due process, was defeated this session.

Thank you to NRA members who supported our efforts to protect Alaskans’ Second Amendment rights in Juneau this session; we were successful because of you!

NRA will be back in Juneau in 2025 to keep fighting for the rights of law-abiding gun owners. Please stay tuned to www.nraila.org and your email inbox for further updates.
