Joe Biden’s Granddaughter Sends a Message to His Haters After Midterms: ‘Doubt Him, Then Watch Him’

The Republicans did not get their much hoped-for “Red Wave” during the midterm elections, and Naomi Biden, the granddaughter of President Joe Biden, couldn’t be happier. She was so happy, in fact, that she congratulated grandpa Joe in a social media post.

In a message she posted on Twitter that it isn’t a good idea to underestimate her grandfather because he has a history of winning when times were tough, The Independent reports.

“Doubt him, then watch him,” she posted on Twitter Wednesday morning. “He’s been defeating the odds his entire life.”

“Every time,” she added.

She went on to note:

“The ‘best midterm performance for an incumbent president’s party in 20 years, since George W. Bush’s GOP gained seats following 9/11.”

Biden included images of news clippings, details of his personal life, his election to the Senate in 1972, and how he fought to help those who are struggling.

“In 1972, it was impossible for a 29-year-old to unseat a Republican Senator who had served in office longer than anyone in Delaware history w/o interruption,” she posted. “No one has ever become a dollar richer because they bet against @joebiden.”

“And once in the Senate, @JoeBiden continued to fight…(4/00). For his family; for his life; for the most vulnerable; cc: @GOP; for all of us. When the stakes were the highest and the opposition was the strongest. cc: @NRA.”

The newspaper clippings portrayed his electoral success: the tragic deaths of his wife Neilia and one-year-old daughter Naomi. Both died in a collision with a tractor-trailer, while his sons received serious injuries. Also illuminated: Biden’s struggles with his own health problems; his legislative work against domestic violence and assault weapons.

And on this day two years ago — November 9, 2020 — Naomi Biden added to her original thread an image from The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that showed then-president-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris celebrating their hard-won election victory.

Naomi Biden is the daughter of Joe’s son Hunter Biden and his first wife Kathleen and she has two sisters and a pair of half-siblings. She and her fiance Peter Neal will marry on the South Lawn of the White House and a reception will be held afterward at the executive mansion. The couple met in New York City and are both law school graduates.

While Republicans did gain some key seats in the House and Senate it’s a relief that they were unable to do what they hoped to do and that “red wave” turned out to be a washout.
