Maryland: Wear and Carry Preliminary Approval Legislation Scheduled for Committee Consideration

Gun Rights

On Tuesday, February 8th, the Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee is scheduled to consider pro-gun legislation, Senate Bill 338. Please contact committee members and ask them to SUPPORT Senate Bill 338.

Senate Bill 338, sponsored by Senator Michael Hough, allows an applicant to obtain preliminary approval for a wear and carry permit before obtaining the required training. This allows individuals to know whether or not they can obtain a permit prior to spending time and money on the required training, only to be arbitrarily denied. This measure is a reintroduction of Senate Bill 309 from the 2021 Legislative Session.

Again, please contact members of the Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee and ask them to SUPPORT Senate Bill 338.
