Stating the proposition baldly, La Lightfoot indicates that either Chicago criminals go out of Cook County to buy guns for their own use, or Chicago criminals go to someplace like Alexandria, Louisiana, clean the pawn shops out of handguns, take them back to Chicago and sell them for between one fourth and one sixth what they paid for them. All of which means Chicago is flooded with unregistered guns, in the hands of unregistered owners.
This betrays the deep ignorance of guns, gun owners and gun laws that is common among members of Socialist political groups.
