Massachusetts: Sunday Hunting Hearing Wednesday

Gun Rights

Tomorrow, the Joint Committee on Environment and Natural Resources will be holding a hearing on a number of hunting-related bills, including bills H. 877 and H. 912 specifically pertaining to Sunday Hunting. NRA members and Second Amendment supporters are encouraged to contact their lawmakers by clicking the “Take Action” button below.

H. 877: “An Act relative to Sunday hunting,” would repeal Massachusetts law that bans Sunday hunting. Massachusetts is only one of two states in the entire country that bans Sunday hunting due to archaic 19th century “blue laws” that prohibited hunting and other outdoor activities on Sundays.

H. 912: “An Act authorizing deer hunting on Sunday,” would allow for deer hunting on Sundays in Massachusetts. Much like H. 877, this bill would remove archaic 19th century laws that block many Massachusetts residents from the opportunity to harvest deer during regular deer hunting season.
