Rhode Island: Mandatory Storage Bill One Step Closer To Becoming Law

Gun Rights

Rhode Island politicians who control the Legislature think you should keep your firearm under lock and key, but the criminals breaking into homes will get to play by a different set of rules. That is why H.7373A, the Burglar Protection Act, is dangerous. When seconds matter, as they do in self-defense situations, anti-gun lawmakers want you to fumble around in the dark for keys to the safe while armed intruders breezily make their way to the top of your staircase. This legislation could likely have disastrous consequences. Despite the warnings, the bill passed the House on a 46-24-5 vote last night.

The legislation passed the Senate earlier this Spring but still needs Gov. Dan McKee’s signature to become law. Contact Governor McKee today and urge him to veto H.7373A by clicking the Take Action button below.

This is a critical election year. It’s important that gun owners and Second Amendment supporters not only stay involved in the legislative process, but the election process as well.
