Senate Floor

The Senate Judiciary Committee revived and passed SB24-131 with amendments, expanding “sensitive places” where firearms cannot be lawfully carried, after previously tabling the bill. The vote happened suddenly, with little advanced notice and no additional public input. The amendments narrow the newly expanded “sensitive areas” however, the legislation remains a significant infringement on the rights of law-abiding gun owners.  This legislation could come up for a vote on the Senate floor at any time. Please use the button below to contact your State Senator and urge them to OPPOSE SB24-131!

House Finance Committee

The House Finance Committee could be voting on two significant anti-gun bills in the coming weeks. HB24-1349, creates an 11% excise tax on the sale of all firearms, firearm accessories, and ammunition purchases, has been scheduled for a hearing on April 1. Additionally, HB24-1353, creating a state permitting system for federally license firearm dealers, has been referred to committee but not scheduled at this time.
