Idaho: Pro-Gun Bills Move in the Senate

On Friday, February 23rd, Senate Bill 1374 relating to concealed weapons was introduced. This bill clarifies Idaho policy regarding property owned by the state and the right to keep and bear arms. Please contact the Senate State Affairs committee and ask them to SUPPORT SB 1374.

SB 1374 will prohibit the restriction on lawful concealed carry of firearms on public property when a private group has contracted to use the property, unless the event is private and by invitation only, or where a commercial event occurs and there is a price charged for admission.

The Senate also passed Senate Bill 1317 after a vote today, which will now advance to the House. Please contact the House Transportation Committee and ask them to SUPPORT SB 1317.

SB 1317 creates a Gadsden flag license plate for Idaho, and revenue generated from the specialty plate will fund a grant program for firearms safety training in schools.
