4 GOP candidates for 94th House seat tell backgrounds

Four Republicans and one Democrat filed as candidates for the N.C. House of Representatives seat representing the 94th District (Alexander County and all of Wilkes County except Edwards 1, 2 and 3, Rock Creek, Traphill 1 and 2 and Walnut Grove precincts. These seven precincts are in the 90th District. Rep. Jeffrey Elmore, a Republican from North Wilkesboro, didn’t seek reelection to the 94th District seat and is a candidate for lieutenant governor. The winner of the Republican primary for the 94th District seat will face Democrat Steve Moree in the general election.
