California: Public Safety Hearing on Mandatory Storage Legislation

Gun Rights

Tomorrow, the Senate Public Safety Committee will be hearing Senate Bill 53, formerly a taxation bill that was recently amended to now place additional requirements on the existing mandatory storage laws regarding firearms. Under the proposed legislation, firearms not only have to be secured, but secured in a California DOJ approved device. Persons who have firearms that are stolen or are accessed without authorization, that are not stored in compliance with this legislation, will face penalties including loss of their Second Amendment Rights for a year!

Again, please contact members of the Senate Public Safety Committee and urge their opposition to SB 53.
