Former Overstock CEO Patrick Byrne, whose fling with convicted Russian foreign agent Maria Butina got him in plenty of trouble, now says he has damning video of Department of Justice DOJ Special Counsel Jack Smith, Newsweek reports.
Byrne resigned in 2019 when his ties to Butina were discovered, shortly after writing a letter to investigators chastising the “Deep State” and “political espionage” regarding the investigations into Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. And he claimed he helped the “Men in Black.”
Smith is likely to issue another indictment against Trump very soon, according to the former president who published a target letter he’d received earlier this week from the DOJ regarding Smith’s investigation and the role Trump played in the Capitol riot on January 6, 2021. Smith is at the helm of the classified documents investigation that result in Trump being indicted.
“It might also come down to what I have on Jack Smith,” Byrne posted on Twitter, responding to another user who mentioned Trump and other potential evidence implicating Smith. “On a previous stop on his journey, Jack was a very naughty boy. And was videotaped in his naughtiness. He doesn’t know that yet. But I suppose he does now.”
A year ago, on July 22, 2022, Byrne spent nearly eight hours testifying before the House select committee investigating January 6.

The session, held behind closed doors included questioning Byrne’s claims about the results of the 2020 election. He was also questioned about his appearance at a December 2020 White House meeting between former national security adviser Michael Flynn, attorney Sidney Powell, and several other White House staffers.
After testifying, Byrne told reporters that the meeting was “benign.” There have been allegations that he and others discussed methods to block President Joe Biden’s electoral certification and possibly seize voting machines.
Perhaps Byrne is getting a little nervous, since Smith and fellow prosecutors were revisiting the meeting as part of their probe into January 6, according to a report from CNN earlier this month. But if he is edgy about this he’s acting as if he believes a good defense is a good offense.
“Hi Jack Smith. I take all responsibility,” Byrne tweeted after the report was released. “Best of all, with my eidetic memory I can tell you amazing detail about it. ‘Parrot-like,’ say some. Call collect. I’m here to help.”

Byrne’s affair with Butina purportedly began when the two met at a libertarian conference in July 2015 in Las Vegas, according to the New York Times. They carried on a three-year relationship until Butina was arrested in 2018.
Butina was accused of trying to influence the National Rifle Association and U.S. policy by promoting Kremlin policies. She pleaded guilty to conspiring to act as a foreign agent.
Now she’s been linked recently to former Biden aide Tara Reade, who in the 1990s filed a claim that Biden sexually assaulted her. Reade told Newsweek in June that she has discussed this with multiple U.S. House Republicans, hoping to testify under oath against Biden and defend her allegations. But so far, congressional Republicans, who usually don’t need encouragement to drag Biden aren’t jumping at this.
I think it’s safe to assume that since Republicans aren’t all over Reade’s claim they likely don’t think there’s much to it. Rarely do some of these people ever miss the chance to attack him. And this woman is a nutter who recently fled to Russia because she says doesn’t she doesn’t feel safe in Biden’s America. However, Politico reveals she’s also a major league scammer and a report from the New York Times notes that Reade reveals she’s a liar that can’t be trusted.
All these fun and games lead me to think Smith isn’t losing much sleep over these disreputable people. It will be interesting to see what, if anything, Byrne will reveal.
People are obviously disgusting at how low MAGA will go:
Isn’t there a law against extortion, or what the Russian’s and Putin like to call kompromat, of a DOJ prosecutor and a Special Counsel at that?

Nice. Going after the prosecutor is not a good choice. This will not end well for this ex-CEO.

Amphetamine abuse really ages most people. I think it also causes the mask to fall off and reveal the psychopathy.

All ‘they’ say is “I gotta plan”
“There’s a whistleblower”
“I have some naughty evidence”

This guy is a dirt bag. His tweets are full of people fighting and arguing and he commentates on them. Lowest common denominator.
