Maine: Sunday Hunting Bills Work Session Today

Gun Rights

Today, May 10th, at 10:00 A.M., the Inland Fisheries and Wildlife Committee will hold work sessions on three pro-hunting bills. Please click the take action button below to contact committee members and ask them to support Legislative Documents 626, 1166, and 1241.

LD 626 preserves Maine’s sporting heritage and increases sporting opportunities by allowing you to hunt on Sundays on private property with landowner permission. This bill provides more opportunities for young Mainers to be introduced to hunting and begin their lifelong appreciation and love for Maine’s sporting heritage.

LD 1166 recognizes the Second Amendment rights of Maine landowners who own more than five or more acres of land, to hunt on their private land on Sundays. Maine landowners should be allowed to hunt on their property without the permission of the State government.
