Oregon: Senate Judiciary Committee Considering Implementing Measure 114 Provisions

Gun Rights

Today, starting at 5:00PM, the Senate Committee on Judiciary will hold a public hearing on Senate Bill 348 with the -1 amendment, to legislatively implement the provisions of Measure 114, which is currently paused while NRA-backed litigation works its way through the courts. Please contact committee members and ask them to OPPOSE SB 348.

Senate Bill 348, as amended, bans magazines with a capacity of greater than ten rounds of ammunition, requires citizens to take mandatory training and pay fees to get a permit in order to access their right to acquire a firearm, and maintains a state registry of gun owners. In addition to the NRA-backed lawsuit against Measure 114, such gun control provisions in states around the country are also currently facing litigation.

Again, please contact committee members and ask them to OPPOSE SB 348.
