Michigan: Capitol Commission Considering Gun Ban

Gun Rights

On May 11th, the Michigan Capitol Commission met to create a five-member committee to study whether it can prohibit firearms.  They are discussing the issue with legislative leaders and Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s office.  Please contact your lawmakers and ask them to oppose any measures restricting the right of citizens to carry firearms in and around the Capitol.

So-called “gun-free zones” only disarm law-abiding citizens and leave them defenseless while criminals ignore such arbitrary boundaries.  Law-abiding citizens exercising their right to carry firearms do not pose a greater threat than any other member of the public.

Again, please contact your lawmakers and ask them to oppose any capitol gun bans.
