Illinois: Gov. Pritzker Signs Gun Ban Bill

Gun Rights

Last night, Governor J.B. Pritzker signed House Bill 5471 into law against the vocal opposition of law-abiding gun owners across the state. This radical gun control scheme bans many commonly-owned firearms and magazines, requires registration of banned firearms, and expands the duration of the state’s “red flag” firearm restraining order. Year after year, attacking Second Amendment rights and punishing law-abiding citizens serves as a distraction from the real issue of Springfield being unable and unwilling to rein in the violent criminals fueling the state’s ongoing crime wave.
