Iowa: Right to Keep and Bear Arms Constitutional Amendment Passes with Two-Thirds Majority!

Gun Rights

Yesterday, Iowans showed up to the polls and sent a clear message to the Legislature that their right to keep and bear arms is a fundamental individual right that shall not be infringed. With nearly 66% voting yes, Public Measure 1 will be enshrined in the Iowa Constitution – the 45th state constitution to do so – guaranteeing this right for all Iowans, current and future.

The language of Public Measure 1 was passed by two consecutive legislatures and put on the ballot for the people to decide. Please take a moment to thank your legislators, who made last night’s historic victory possible.
