South Carolina: 2022 Legislative Session Convenes Today

Gun Rights

Today, January 11th, the South Carolina Legislature begins the 2022 legislative session. House Bill 3096, the constitutional carry bill that the House passed last year, remains active this session.

Currently, 21 states allow law-abiding adults to carry a concealed handgun for self-defense without having to go through government red tape or pay fees. Of these, five passed their constitutional carry laws just last year.

NRA will continue to fight to pass constitutional carry in 2022 in order to improve self-defense in South Carolina, for the benefit of law-abiding citizens, and to recognize that this right is inherent. Please stay tuned to www.nraila.org and your email inbox for further updates.
