Alabama: Permitless Carry Passes Committee

Gun Rights

Today, the House Public Safety and Homeland Security Committee passed House Bill 405 by a voice vote. This marks the first time ever that permitless carry legislation has passed an Alabama House committee. NRA has been fighting for this self-defense legislation in Alabama for over six years. Please contact your state representative and ask them to SUPPORT HB 405.

House Bill 405 allows a law-abiding adult to carry a concealed firearm in Alabama, without first needing to obtain government permission. This ensures that citizens have their right to self-defense without government red tape or delays. Additionally, it maintains the existing pistol permit system, so citizens who still wish to obtain a permit, may do so.

Again, please contact your state representative and ask them to SUPPORT HB 405.
