South Dakota: Stand Your Ground Enhancement Legislation Successfully “Smoked Out” to the Floor

Gun Rights

Yesterday, important self-defense legislation, House Bill 1212, was brought to the Senate Floor following a successful “Smoke Out” motion by Senator Wiik.  The pro-gun measure is supported by Governor Kristi Noem and is expected to be considered as early as Monday.  Please contact your State Senator and ask them to SUPPORT House Bill 1212.

House Bill 1212 clarifies the use of force under South Dakota’s Stand Your Ground laws.  The bill enhances your right to self-defense by strengthening and explaining when justifiable force can be used in defense of person and property, so long as the individual is not engaging in an unlawful activity and is in a place they’re allowed to be.

Again, please contact your State Senator and ask them to SUPPORT House Bill 1212.
