Raleigh police officer Max Gillick, who was shot while protecting a victim during a violent incident on January 21, has been moved out of the intensive care unit and into a regular hospital room. Officer Gillick was injured while rescuing John Rowe from a home invasion and subsequent shooting spree that involved the suspect, Antonio Rodrigues. Reports reveal that despite being shot himself, Gillick exhibited extraordinary bravery by carrying Rowe to safety while remaining with him until help arrived. His next step in recovery is returning home, marking a significant milestone in his healing journey.
