Washington: Gun-Free Zone Bill Scheduled for Hearing Tuesday

Gun Rights

The Washington State legislature is wasting no time in their efforts to erode your Second Amendment rights. The legislature will convene the 2025 session on Monday and has already scheduled a committee hearing for a “gun-free” zone expansion bill Tuesday, January 14th, at 8am.

Senate Bill 5098, prefiled for the 2025 session, prohibits the possession of firearms in parks, government buildings, and locations where “children are likely to be present.” This vague definition could be applied almost anywhere outside of the home and demonstrates the intent of this bill is to make the entire state of Washington a “gun-free” zone.

Please consider submitting testimony in opposition of this bill and register your position as “Con” through the Senate Committee website and contact your Senator by using the TAKE ACTION button below.
