Colorado: Anti-Gun Legislators Prepare Latest Attempt at “Assault Weapon” Ban

Gun Rights

As the Colorado State Legislature prepares to begin the 2025 session this coming Wednesday, anti-gun legislators have already started working on a new semi-automatic firearm ban.

As described by the Denver Post, this latest attempt at an “assault weapons” ban will seek to prohibit the new sale and manufacture of any semi-automatic firearms that accept detachable magazines. While supporters of this new bill claim it intends to target “high-powered firearms” and help enforce the current magazine capacity limits, this ban would impact even more firearm platforms than last year’s failed “assault weapon” ban HB24-1292

It is clear that the anti-gun elements of the Colorado legislature intend to go after law-abiding gun owners just as hard as they did last year when session convenes on the 8th. Please stay tuned to www.NRAILA.org and your inbox for NRA-ILA alerts on the latest action items.
