Hollywood actor Dean Cain hams it up with Yukon Progress cub reporter Zachary Jordan.

During a trip to Dallas, actor Dean Cain took a moment to visit with The Yukon Progress’s own Zachary Jordan for an interview.
Cain played Clark Kent/Superman in the 90’s hit show Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.

He is also known for his conservative views in Hollywood and has endorsed John McCain and President Trump in the 2008, 2016, 2020 and 2024 Presidential elections.

In 2018, Cain was elected to the board of directors for the National Rifle Association (NRA).

  1. What was it like playing Superman and would you suit up again?

D.C.: It was wonderful playing Superman. It was an absolute blast! I would suit up again if the script was good and made a lot of sense. So, the story would have to match the Clark Kent that I played his mission was to be more human.

  1. Who was your favorite teacher growing up?

D.C.: My history teacher in high school. His name is Paul Carry and he was amazing. He taught me AP History and really opened the world for me and made me think.

  1. Is it hard being a conservative in Hollywood?

D.C.: Not for me, but generally I’d say yes. Not for me because I’ve been open about who I am, and I can’t keep my mouth shut. It is hard for a lot of people being conservative in Hollywood and probably hurts their career, but I don’t deal with that because I can’t keep quiet … I can’t shut up. I’ve got to tell the truth.

  1. Would you ever consider running for office?

D.C.: Maybe … it’s a tough business. Even tougher than my business. But if I felt like I could do some good I would, but then I’d get out. For me my biggest mission is to be a good dad to my son.

Zachary’s father, former Republican state legislator John Paul Jordan, met Dean Cain on the Saturday after first being elected to the Oklahoma House of Representatives.

“In fact, he was the first to address me as ‘Representative Jordan’ in writing,” said Jordan, a Yukon attorney.
