“The View” welcomed Kamala Harris‘ running mate Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN) — and targeted in on his gun ownership.
“So, you’re out hunting pheasants,” Joy Behar began in her question for Walz, which came after she pointed out his rating from the National Rifle Association went from an A to an F.
“Is that enough to convince people that there’s a middle ground on this issue? Because right now, right-wingers are coming after you for how you handle your shotgun.”
“Well, I can shoot better than all of them, I guarantee it. I got the trophies to prove it,” Walz clapped back
Walz recalled that he grew up in a small town with a close family who would go hunting after football practice.
“I have been doing this my whole life, but the idea that you can protect the Second Amendment, which the vice president and I obviously do, but our first response is to our kids and their safety so they’re not shot dead in schools,” Walz said. “These are folks that cosplay with the guns. There are no reasons we need assault weapons on streets or in our schools.”

He noted that gun owners have been safely living their lives for over 50 years and Democrats haven’t come to take away guns. His concern is when it comes to safety in the classroom.
Walz’s grading fell from an A to an F after he championed gun safety after the Sandy Hook shooting.
Walz also took a jab at Trump’s criminal conviction in the hush money case.
“[Kamala Harris and I] are both gun owners — first time maybe on the Democratic ticket in modern times,” he said. “The Republican nominee can’t pass a background check to get a gun.”
