Kenneth O. “Kenny” Wright, 84, of Williamsport, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 29, 2024 at UPMC Williamsport. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, JoAnn R. (Fink) Wright.
Born September 11, 1939, in Trout Run, he was a son of the late Charles Henry and Mildred Alice (Swartz) Wright. Kenny was proud to work for Stroehmann Bakeries as a truck driver for almost 50 years.
He was a proud member of the National Rifle Association and was of the Christian faith. Kenny’s love for driving and embarking on long drives was a reflection of his adventurous spirit. He was an avid hunter and a lifelong fan of NASCAR and Westerns. He also enjoyed watching football, and cheering for his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers. Kenny had a huge love for dogs and cats, many of which finding their way into his home and heart.
In addition to his wife, Kenny is survived by six children, Steve Wright (Karen) of Cogan Station, Tom Wright, of Williamsport, Mark Wright (Michelle) of Roaring Branch, Evalyn Sitler (Bryon), of Cogan Station, Jim Wright, of Williamsport, and Candace Lukens (Joel) of Williamsport; 11 grandchildren, Raelyn and Aidan Sitler, Kristen Wright-Weaver (Chad), Megan and Brandon Wright, Sarah Haynie (Kenny), Jason (Trisha) and Avery Wright, Laura, Hailey, and Logan Lukens; six great-grandchildren; and three siblings, David and Dean Wright (Kathryn), and Sarah Frontz (Mark).
Along with his parents, he was predeceased by three siblings, Virginia Kiser, Clinton Wright, and Charles Wright.
A funeral service to honor Kenny’s life will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, September 5, at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., Williamsport. Burial will follow in Stoltz Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service, Thursday, at Sanders.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Kenny’s name to the Republican National Committee.
