Michigan: House Committee Rushes Anti-Gun Bills

Gun Rights

Today, the House Criminal Justice Committee voted along party lines to advance anti-gun bills, following a short, perfunctory hearing in which they cut off the testimony of the one opponent they allowed to speak. These bills, Senate Bills 471 and 472, along with Senate Bill 528, go above and beyond federal law, while also being vague with the use of subjective criteria, in defining what constitutes offenses for which individuals will lose their Second Amendment rights if convicted. They will now go to the House floor for further consideration. Please contact your state representative and ask them to OPPOSE these bills.
