Connecticut: Gun Control Bill Passes the House and Moves to the Senate

Gun Rights

On Thursday, the House passed HB 6667 on a vote of 96-51.  This drastic gun control legislation has a bit of everything.  It contains a ban on open carry and strengthens prohibitions and registration of semi-auto “assault weapons” and Connecticut “others.”  The bill also toughens mandatory storage laws, rendering self defense in one’s own home obsolete.  It also bans unserialized firearms, targeting hobbyists and gun collectors.  Finally, the bill establishes handgun rationing.  The original bill was one-gun-a-month, but it has been amended to three.  Obviously this will ONLY impact law-abiding gun owners, as criminals don’t line up at gun stores to submit to gun rationing schemes.

Your immediate assistance is needed!  HB 6667 is likely to come up for a Senate vote next week!  It is imperative that you contact your lawmakers NOW and urge them to OPPOSE HB 6667, which severely restricts law-abiding gun owners and sportsmen! Additionally, please share this alert with your family and friends, and ask them to do the same.  Please contact your Senator today and respectfully request a “no” vote on any and all gun control.  Connecticut has trampled on the rights of law-abiding gun owners for far too long.  The state has some of the harshest gun control laws in the country, and prosecutors need to enforce the laws already on the books.  Act NOW and contact your Senator!
