North Carolina: Right-to-Carry Expansion and Permit-to-Purchase Repeal VETO Override Advances to the House

Gun Rights

Today, March 28, the Senate voted 30-19 to override Governor Cooper’s veto of Senate Bill 41, a bill that recognizes law-abiding citizens’ right to self-defense while attending a church with a school attached and also repeals the redundant permit-to-purchase system. The veto override will now advance to the House, and would not be possible without the bipartisan support SB 41 received.

Gov. Cooper’s veto has shown law-abiding gun owners another reason why they must always be ready to vote to elect officials who will work to protect their rights. Please stay tuned to www.nraila.org and your email inbox for further updates.
