Alaska: 2022 Legislative Session Convenes Today

Gun Rights

Today, January 18th, the Alaska State Legislature begins the 2022 legislative session. As in 2021, the legislature can expect to see both pro and anti-gun agendas this year, including NRA-backed Emergency Powers Protection legislation, carried by Senator Robert Myers (Senate Bill 136) and Minority Leader Representative Cathy Tilton (House Bill 179). Gun owners and sportsmen throughout the state must stay actively involved to defend freedom.

Your NRA will continue to fight to promote and protect your right to keep and bear arms and hunting heritage. Our members remain the most powerful political force in American history, and together, we will secure the Second Amendment for present and future generations.
