New Jersey: Gun Owners End 2021 On High Note, But The Battle Continues

Gun Rights

The 2021 legislative session officially ended this week, as the Legislature gaveled out of the old session and immediately transitioned into the 2022 proceedings on Tuesday.   This year’s changing of the guard is noteworthy for a couple of reasons.  First, not a single, significant gun bill from the Governor’s 2021 lame duck session gun bill package was passed.   And, when new lawmakers are officially seated for the new session, more pro-gun legislators will be taking the oath of office after last November’s election results.  Both of those facts are, in large part, due to the advocacy of gun owners in the Garden State.

While certainly welcome news, and worthy of celebration, the respite will be short.  Today, January 11th, the New Jersey State Legislature begins the 2022 legislative session. As in 2021, the Legislature can expect to see both pro and anti-gun agendas this year. Gun owners and sportsmen throughout the state must stay actively involved to defend freedom.
