FNHQ-DC seems blissfully unaware of its role in driving firearms facilitated violence sky high. Not, to be sure to the stratospheric heights of the late 1980’s and early 1990’s, but far higher than the period after the Heller decision put a damper on DC crime. Notice the rise inmurder and in violent crime during the 1960’s when FNHQ-DC was devoting one page a day for lobbying for gun control. The most obvious response was a rise from 81 murders to 273 murders in 10 years of DC’s gun control campaign, and a rise from 4,230 violent crimes, murder, rape, robbery, and assault with intent to kill, to a shocking 17,038 violent crimes after only 7 years of ‘DC’s gun control crusade.
But when the District banned guns entirely, crime really went through the roof, rising to 482 murders in 1993, with 16,888 reported violent crimes in a city where only one violent crime in five was reported to the police.
FNHQ-DC played an important role in that rise in crime, preaching gun control with one page every day for a year, and only slightly less gun ban propaganda of more than 30 y3ar4s.
This in a world where activists can be pressed until they admit no gun control law in history has ever reduced crime, made anyone safer, prevented even one political assassination, or do anything else a person of sound mind would consider a b,enefit.
Currently, there been more than 58,200 laws that restrict or bar citizens access to firearms. Of those, not even one can be shown to have any benefits at all.
Of ordinary wage earners can discover the lie inherent in gun control or gun ban campaigns, a NEWSPAPER should certainly be able to. To fail to discovfer the truth about gun control is to breach the public trust in the fourth estate. Something FNHQ-DC seemingly works at.
