House Bill 140 Conference Committee Report to Receive Vote

Law-abiding gun owners are on the cusp of having a single, statewide standard on firearms ordinances across Louisiana.  House Bill 140 was sent to a conference committee and the report will be voted on TODAY.  Please ask your Representative and Senator to vote YES on the House Bill 140 Conference Committee Report.

House Bill 140, sponsored by Rep. Blake Miguez, prevents local authorities and municipalities from imposing restrictions to prohibit the possession of a firearm.  Preemption legislation stops municipalities from creating a patchwork of different laws that turn a law-abiding citizen into a criminal for simply crossing a jurisdictional line.

Please contact your State Senator and Representative and ask that they vote “YES” on the House Bill 140 Conference Committee Report.
